"We used our Lawson Hammocks while section hiking on the AT. Absolutely love them. I was able to sleep comfortably with my Osprey 55l in with me. My gf had our 60lbs Pitt mix up with her, his nails didn't tear any holes. It rained every night and we were perfectly dry."

This weekend saw Arizona’s first major snowfall of the season! Skiers saw some extremely chilly weather yesterday. That cloud visible near the top of Humphreys Peak is actually snow blowing from the summit in the extreme wind. Rumor has it temperatures at the top were around -30 degrees with windchill!

As a child, my Great Grandmother always told me "Never grow up!" Now I'm hearing the same phrase from my Grandma more and more these days. Probably the best advice I will have ever received and I am sure I will be saying the same thing to my kids and even my Grandkids someday.
A slightly smokey Sierra. This was taken just after the trail hit 10,000ft for the first time. The neat thing about this is the smoke from a nearby fire created a natural filter to make it look like the sun was setting, although this picture was taken hours before the sun began to set. In the distance you can see where the smoke fades to blue sky again.
The weekend started on a rough note. But I came home to a hot meal waiting for me along with a big ol’ bear hug. Then we woke up before sunrise to meet up with friends in the desert. And then the universe decided to snow on our parade. And then we were outside, laughing, drinking hot toddies and forgetting ourselves for a little while. ❄️🍯🥃🍋
"It's in these moments that I feel the most alive! Moments of bliss, moments where I face my fears. Moments of joy, awe and beauty. Moments of stress. Moments where I can just sit back and take in the the view, slow it down and enjoy every single thing and person and moment that I experience". @zachpallares

Being able to live in the moment is a necessary skill for any landscape photographer. Last year, I took full advantage of the winter we were gifted with. Naively thinking it would be a yearly occurrence, I got all new winter gear in preparation for going even harder this year. But, Mother Nature had different plans for California this season and most of that gear has sat collecting dust. And while I could travel to places where winter has a full grasp over, it’s just not practicable at the moment.

Black sand beaches, large chunks of ice some radiating the brightest color blue while others remain as clear as day, and massive glaciers in the distance. The diversity that is Iceland is unlike any other.
