SUMMER HOLIDAYS: our family has just enjoyed a few days away camping in our beautiful state’s south-west region over the past week. As well as a novel or two in my beach basket, I’ve been inspired by this great little read (+ recipes) from @eleanorozich and fully intend to take on #theartofsimple theme as my own for 2018!
Eat a orange for breakfast and have an apple for snack or lunch. Like most fruits, apples and oranges are an excellent source of carbohydrates. The majority of the carbohydrates in these fruits come from natural fruit sugar, which is a simple carbohydrate.
Both fruits contain two types of sugar: glucose and fructose. These sugars are easily broken down by the body for use as energy. #keepitsimple#sugarlesslife#sugarlessliving#wellnessmayven#healthyfood#apples#oranges
I was at the gym yesterday doing some work on the bars, nothing I’d class as extraordinary, and the only other guy there says - Wow, that’s impressive!! After we’d chatted a bit and he reminisced about doing that sort of thing as a kid, I asked him at what point in his life did he decide he could no longer do the bars or climb a tree for that matter? I saw a little light bulb go off and left him to ponder. He come to find me later to say what I said had really resonated with him and was inspired to try and keep things in life a little simpler, like kids do. There’s a lot we can learn from little kids I thought, they get over things quick, don’t hold grudges, they don’t put others down for doing well and they are resilient as hell. Ended up in emergency last night with my littlest after a scooter accident and a head wound that needed glueing (all good now), and it hit me again, when at 6 years old it just wasn’t a big deal. So I’m trying to go simple this year, the more you think about stuff the bigger it becomes. If it’s not a HELL YEAH then it’s a no!! Do what you want, find your thing and for old time sake maybe climb a tree 🤷♀️🌳 ❤️ #bars#monkey#40isjustanumber#fitat40#doityourway#inspiration#kids#tree#climbing#treeclimbing#keepitsimple#livelife#fitness#fun#family#lightbulb#randomfact - on average, a 4 year old child asks 437 questions a day 👍
I got home late last night from a busy 12 hour shift. I don't like eating so late, but I have been having headaches if I don't eat. So I threw this together in about 10 minutes. It always amazing how so much spinach sauteed down to hardly anything.
Anim Tip: having trouble animating a specific action? Block it out with a cube. It forces you to think about the core of the movement that will sell your idea, and it's fast! #animtip#keepitsimple#3danimation
Welcome to Missouri weather, where today it is -6° and Friday will be 52°. We get to experience all four seasons, sometimes all in one week.
Today is homeschool library. It's pretty much the most loved day of the week! Children get to see friends, books are borrowed and mama gets adult talking time with other mamas. I hope your day is blessed!

Today was one of the harder days that our family has experienced in awhile. The extreme cold, being cooped up inside and the children adjusting to life with dad home seemed to hit an entire new level of chaotic. The children were fussy, restless and nothing seemed to go right. We had about two hours of quiet time this afternoon and everyone seemed to hit the reset button. The afternoon was much more pleasant. We gathered in the kitchen and enjoyed a late afternoon of making granola bars and then dinner.
So many have asked about an update on my husband. To be honest, the days are long. With his right thumb/hand and right ankle in cast, there is very little he can do. He can put no weight on his ankle at all and still experiences a lot of pain, often being able to feel one of the three broken bones shift around. He is completely reliant upon me to get his drinks, make his meals, help with getting dressed, baths, mainly all parts of life. A lot of people have asked about him returning to work on light duty and the reality is, he can't until he is healed. He drives 45 minutes one way to work and in his current situation the surgeon will not release him to do that. It has been adjustment for all of us, especially him. He has an appointment on Thursday to see the surgeon, we are extremely hopeful that the sore on his ankle has healed and that surgery will happen next week. He can then begin his 70 days of healing. At this point we are hopeful he will go back to work in April. In all of this, I have learned that no amount of worry will change a thing. Together, we trust all our needs will be met and I rather enjoy having him home all day. I have always appreciated how much he has done for us but now that he can't, I realize and appreciate him even more. Hug your husband extra tight, give him a big kiss and thank him for all he does! Thank you for all the love, support, messages and prayers! You all are awesome!
Beautiful people! As we look ahead to the year of 2018, we've been thinking seriously about converting another van for someone who is interested in traveling and living on the road. So, if you or anyone you know is interested in hiring us to convert a van, we'd love to connect and talk about the details! Shoot us a direct message on Instagram or email us through our website (link in bio) to get the conversation started. We're stoked to hear from you!
It's been over a year since we "finished" converting our van and started living, working, and traveling in our home on wheels. When we finally hit the road after months of the conversion process, we were excited to put the tools down and start exploring. As soon as we did that, we started creating in other ways. We found that creating and sharing is what fuels us as people in this world and we're excited to explore the opportunity of starting the creative process of converting a van all over again!
