Brody did great at our last adoption event, but unfortunately didn’t get much interest! Poor guy. He is a great dog! 🐾 Hello, my name is Brody! I am a stunning 5 year old full blooded AKC Registered Mountain Cur, and I weigh around forty pounds. I came to LFM after a good samaritan saved me from being locked in a 10 x 10 pen my whole life. I love to play and run, and have never been given the chance to do so for the first 2 years of my life, I am working on learning how to settle down when I get a little over excited. Due to this, I would do best in a home with an experienced adopter. I am working on potty training, and doing great. I need a VERY ACTIVE home! I am vocal while playing, so an apartment would not be a good fit for me. I also need a fenced in yard at my forever home. I get along with other dogs, but I need a home with medium/big dogs who like to play. I would also do best in a home with children 10 and up due to my level of energy. I am very food driven, so I am sure I will learn everything I need to know. I would do great with an active family to let me run my energy out! Can you open your heart to me? www.LuvFurMutts.com #adoptme#LuvFurMutts

I missed my Pitties so much I had to take a trip to the local Humane Society by my mom's house and find some to play with. Meet Otis, this beautiful black panther really wants an active home where he can run in a big yard and play with all the tennis balls. He's the prettiest black dog I've ever seen. #otis#adoptme#dontbullymybreed#pitbullsofinstagram

In Latin , Maximus means the greatest ,the most significant...
Once upon a time there was a chickpea cat, tiny like the palm of a child . His parents announced to him that the next morning they were all going to take a trip to the countryside, nearby the sea . In the morning ,everyone was ready and after having their milk from their mum ,they started their magical trip. Pretty much halfway through the trip, it started raining, mum called all the children so that they'd gather up and hide somewhere all together ...
Maximus, however, was too absorbed by the rain to hear his mum calling him and he happily wandered around ,wet ,in the streets ,until he suddenly realised he had lost sight of them.
He started yelling, and yelling and yelling and then crying but to no avail. Nobody was anywhere to be found .
Our little chickpea had to be strong and all grown up and actually face life ...
Then he heard a funny voice ,somewhere ,from afar . It was these dangerous creatures dad had spoken of, the "Humans" . He was too scared to close in immediately and he moved hesitantly ,then he saw them calling him . He didn't know what to do ,so he decided to move closer to them and he suddenly felt himself being caressed and smelled something delicious . In this magical moment, everything changed for little Maximus...
Do you want to grant him the best ending to his fairytale ?
Maximus was born in November 2017 and he is located in Athens. He will be given for adoption in the area of Attica only, after he has been neutered or under the condition of being neutered when he comes of age. The new owner will cover the expense of his microchip. Tel: 6936631269
Our Central Vermont Humane Society Pet of the Week is Brin! 🐶 ❤️
Brin enjoys long walks in the woods, going for car rides, and getting as much snuggle time as possible! Her previous owner reports she does great on leash, is really smart, and has some basic training skills already. She lived with a dog previously, but their rough play sometimes resulted in spats. She has played with other dogs, and likes most of the ones she meets. She likes to chase cats, so should go to a feline-free home. Brin's compact little size will make a great snuggle-buddy, and her joy in being active will make for a great adventure-buddy! It would probably be best if she didn't live with children under 10 years of age. Her adoption fee includes a six-week Good Manners training class.
Go meet Brin today, and fall in love! Here's more information:
Busy day here at HSEC! We are getting ready for the weekend. Looks like we are going to have a nice one! Hope everyone has big plans. You know what would make weekends better? A forever friend to enjoy all the seasons together! #AdoptMe#gologreenville#hsecarolina
Have you ever met a dog that was just so full of character and attitude, it made you smile? Opie is that dog.
On Tuesday, he went to the clinic with his foster sister Belle... and he was very offended to find a picture of a dog on the wall. Seriously, how dare they?! 😂
Opie’s still looking for that special someone who will think his quirks and attitude are funny. He’s a great dog for the right person!

What a lucky girl! Princess gets to go for walks to work on her leash skills. Although a little pulling is to be expected while she is still learning, she has been doing very well! This cutie is making good progress, and really wants to please!

Trying to find a home for the pup on the left. He's a sweetheart with special needs (deaf). PM me if you know someone who may be interested in giving him a good home. .
#Brooklyn - Orso is a gorgeous gray boy who was left in an open trap on a busy sidewalk too frightened to move. He had a large open wound on one side of his face but it was immediately clear that he was not feral. After just a few months in foster care, all that remains of his injury is a tiny patch of missing fur. Orso has slowly learned to trust again. He asks for and offers affection with his gentle eyes, enjoys playing with his toys and has even figured out how to play with other cats. Orso would do well on his own or with a feline friend. Orso is around 2 years old (with a perfect set of teeth), vaccinated and neutered. Email [email protected] to arrange a play date.
Capturing and maintaining your dog’s attention is the first step to basic training. It comes before sit and down, stay. Read up on different focus games you can play inside with your dog, starting with no distractions. You can get creative and they are tons of fun for both you and your pup. We suggest using a thin, medium length slip leash for basic indoor training and focus games. It’s a great tool to help you maintain control and guide your pup as they learn to focus on you, their leader. General Patton obviously needs somebody to play some focus games with him. He’s in rescue boarding with @thelovepit and needs a furever home 🖤 #thebasics#dogtrainingisfun#slipleash#knowyourtools#comingsoon#themoreyouknow#fashion#cooldogs#dallastexas#startup#adoptme#pitbullsofinstagram

Hope & Faith are a mom/daughter pair who match their names beautifully. Despite losing the only home they knew, they’re still sweet, affectionate and hopeful that someone will love them forever. They’re 4yo and 5yo and ready to be swept off their paws at the New Castle Campus. #himalayan#adoptdontshop#adoptme#bvspca
Nomad, aka the Party Crasher cat, is looking for a place to call home! Nomad was discovered living under someone’s couch a couple of days after they’d had a party. Doors had been left open so Nomad apparently wandered in and made himself comfortable! We would love to find this wandering boy a place to call his own. We’ll never know his history but it’s clear from his condition when he came in that he’d had some rough times. He doesn’t ask for much — plenty of food, a comfortable place to sleep, and someone to brush and pet him (a lot). He’s FIV+ but is a happy, healthy guy with no current health issues. Life at the shelter was a little stressful for Nomad — he’s really not a fan of other cats — so he’s hanging out in a foster home until we can find the right forever home. If you’d like more information about this handsome guy, or would like to make arrangements to meet him, email us at [email protected] 🐱 #EASadoptables#EASfosters#adoptdontshop
WESTCHESTER, NY: 9 year old Sadie is back for the second time on SSD. She is a long term shelter resident and we're determined to get her adopted A·SAP! Sadie was adopted as a young lady but returned three years ago when her family had a baby. Sadie is not of your average "senior" status. She is still very active and hasn't lost an ounce of her wits. Her fun-loving companionship is being lost with each passing day at the shelter and she needs a human best friend and a home again! PLEASE SHARE! 👩🏻🎓🍪 @spcawestchester wrote, "Sadie is likely an #Akita & #hound mix and she's a real brindle beauty. She originally came to us when she was dumped in a Kohl’s parking lot, and then was adopted soon after when she was young. She was returned to us around three years ago because she was uncomfortable around the family’s new baby.
Although Sadie may have a little grey in her muzzle now, she's still got a ton of pep in her step! She's active, playful (world class fetcher!), and very friendly -- we're talking uncontrollable butt wiggles when you pet her. She's a mature girl who's well-mannered and will make a great companion, adventure buddy, & best friend. While Sadie loves the company of people, she's not a fan of other dogs or cats, and at this point in her life she'd prefer a kid-free home.
We are so proud of Sadie -- and from that smile on her face, she's pretty proud of herself, too! She passed her C.L.A.S.S. B.A. and M.A. test! C.L.A.S.S. stands for Canine Life and Social Skills, and by earning her B.A. and her M.A., Sadie has shown that she's mastered things like meet and greets, loose leash walking, stay, settle, leave it, and more. In other words, she's one #smart, well trained pup!
The @spcawestchester requires in-person adoptions, with all members of the household coming to the shelter to meet Sadie; therefore, Sadie is not eligible for transport." To adopt Sadie, please email Jeanne at [email protected] with questions, to set up a meet-and-greet or to submit an application.
@spcawestchester is located at 590 N State Road, #BriarcliffManor, NY -- approximately 1 hour north of #NYC. ❤️ #seniordog#adoptme#westchestercounty#adoptdontshop

Moooooooom! Kevy won’t stop touching me!
I’m not touching her! (Tap tap tap)
I had Frank, Kevyn and Delilah all laying in bed with me! I was SO happy... but @theresidentfurkids was not. She can’t stand when I’m paying attention to anyone but her. So like children, she decided to annoy Delilah.
When I fetched the kittens for tonight’s weigh-in, these two little eyes were looking back at me! Flip wins gold in the eyeball race! 🏁🥇
