I took a much needed break from posting this week. This world is a crazy place, and I've had a very heavy heart from all the horrible news lately. Our sweet friend Heidi was abducted in her new home state and it tipped me over the edge (she was found safe a day later and 2 states away, but it was too much for my mama heart to handle). So I stepped back and disengaged and prayed and spent time with our family. Yesterday and today, we went skiing again for the first time since last year and it was sooooo needed. We haven't had much snow this year and our ski hill hasn't been running as it usually does. Thankfully l, they cranked up the snowmaker and opened up the bunny hill for the little ones. The fresh air and sunshine in the mountains was exactly what my soul needed. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to hike, but I'll gladly trade that for time on the hill any day! .
🐋🐋🐋🐋🐋🐋🐋🐋Yesterday might have been #WorldWhaleDay — but these beautiful humpbacks decided to keep the party going through today!
We could NOT have been happier! What a treat to see them so close and playful. Cue round 2 of vacation happy tears for this girl 🙋🏻♀️
Fun fact: these are the SAME North Pacific Humpbacks that spend their summers feeding in our Alaskan waters back home!
Note: please excuse my obnoxious shrieking and repetitive “hey pretty girl” ... I lost ALL ability to function in my excitement😬
"BABY, YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL"

This piece has a story that unfolds by itself, that ONLY the universe could have a hand in. ❤️
This is inspired by the song "Montana" on Justin Timberlake's new album Man of the Woods. There is a set of lyrics that I first heard in it & I was blown away by the visual picture I immediately imagined! I knew I had to paint what I saw in my mind. Well I came across the Amazon video of him describing his favorite bridge in the entire album is the on in "Montana" and he explains why. Wow, it's the very part that I envisioned this piece from! As I am finishing up, I show my husband, as I always do because he brings this different perspective every. Single. Time. Well my husband said "I see you and I in this and I am showing you the stars. I am telling you, You can have it all. The stars, the moon, the universe. I will be here. Whatever you want."
I was dumbfounded when I heard the same line "You can have it all" in the song, I knew the title!!! I am shaking from the energy flow of it all, it's amazing. ❤️✨🙏🏽

Who's ready to hit the waters?
Trying to get ahead of the game this year. Getting some flies tied now so I can open up more fishing time.
When you live in Alaska and the weather isn't ideal, you have to find other ways to train for the mountains. Over two miles on the track of mixed walking and running with 30lbs in the pack, and then step ups on this big tractor tire on every other lap.
Take the backroads and explore the sights along the Steese Highway in #Alaska. The 175-mile-long Steese Highway (Alaska Route 6) connects Fairbanks with the small town of Circle on the bank of the mighty #Yukon River. Only the first 80 miles of the Steese Highway are paved, but the road is maintained year-round. Here you can explore the vast landscape of the Great Interior, traditional home of the Athabascan people and watch the #NorthernLights dancing overhead.
