Not everyday is going to be sunshine and rainbows. 🌈 To be totally honest I wasn’t feeling myself today. I felt like having a total nervous breakdown for no particular reason. 😧 I could have easily made this an excuse to just be lazy and skip my workout but if I’m not sick then why not? 🤐 Exercise can give you the endorphins you need to make you feel good. ☝🏼 Although my workout wasn’t pretty. I DID IT. I gave back to myself and I already feel a little better. 🙆🏻♀️ Most people turn to pills and medication when the best medicine is to move your body. 🌠

It’s not always sunshine ☀️, rainbows 🌈, and lollipops 🍭 when working out. I am also not talking about kids jumping all over you (because let’s face it I have that a lot) but rather an internal struggle.
Even though this is phase 2, I’ve done these moves before, I knew what to expect, I still ⛽️ out. I got frustrated with myself because the moves seemed harder. I was talking down to myself for the first 1/2 of the workout because what was wrong with me. I had to take more breaks. I was weak.
Could it be due to not enough sleep, yes yes it could. Could it be because I worked out at 11pm last night, yes yes it could. Could it be my mental state messing with me, yes yes it could. Was my anxiety creeping back up, yes yes it was. ………BUT……... After watching back the replay I noticed that my form is better, I am using stronger loops, I am hitting plank faster with the sliders, I am engaging more muscles with each move and I can fully execute the moves now as opposed to part of the way or not at all. I did end up finishing all the moves, all the reps and completed the days program.
This tells me that this IS WORKING. I am getting STRONGER!!! So while I may be frustrated and those nasty thoughts were creeping back up to rear their ugly head I took a deep breath and pressed on, I completed it, I DID it. Typically those feelings would stay with me through the rest of the day and onto the next but exercise helps them dissipate. Even though I had to take more breaks, I am also giving myself some grace because I am doing more now than I have in the last 33 days.
Change doesn’t happen overnight because we didn’t get this way overnight. You have to be willing to put in the work to get the results. Are you ready to put in the hard work?

It's been about a year since I had my last professional massage & being self aware of all the knots, tension , & stress built up in my body was driving me up the wall😭. I haven't taken my licensing exam yet ( #slacking ) 😬😬, but I do know a few things, so sometimes I'm apprehensive because I think that I'll get a massage therapist who doesnt know their shit & that I may have an um..less than satisfactory experience??🙃Although, I'm happy to say that the #LMT I had today had been massaging for 6 years & you could definetly tell 🙌🏾👏🏾. I haven't told you all, but I've been feeling pretty sore these past few days - when I tell you I've been practicing #yogaeverydamnday , I MEAN IT. I've really been practicing hard🏃🏾, so when my massage therapist commented on my range of motion being so good , I really felt a sense of accomplishment🙆🏾. I used to co-facilitate Equine assisted therapy sessions when I was still in California. There was this huge ranch up in the hills of Grass Valley that specializes in horse therapy and we’d bring our clients there for treatment.
We use the modality to treat people with several issues such as anxiety, anger issues, ADD, eating disorders, depression and deficits in communication or social skills. And it was amazing how transformational it was!
But you don’t really need a structured animal program for the most part. Just being around animals should do the trick. So yeah! Playing with a pet is definitely a great self-care strategy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
