Sizing up the vastness of this man-made lake at sunrise.
We came here to see the rare phenomena that this place is quite famous for but we were faced with something much more fascinating and terrifying at the same time. Failing to arrive to this unfamiliar place before sunset, we camped out in the dark not knowing what surrounded us. We could only see as far as our headlamps could reach but even so, everywhere we looked, every corner we shone our light on looked exactly the same. Snow white. Everything else apart from the dimly lit sky was swallowed by darkness. If you think that's eerie, add to your imagination the sound of the wind howling around us and the shaking car that served as our quarters, and that completes our experience that whole night. It was quite unsettling.
Upon waking up at dawn, relieved that the wind didn't blow the car with us in it over the cliff and down to the frozen lake, we excitedly got up to be greeted by this enormous landscape before us. It was otherworldly. The wind, still very present, looked much more enchanting in the morning than it felt at night. Looking at what's in front of me, for the first time, i felt like I was a part of something, a place, a world that lets me run wild with my feet unchained. And with the horizon so out of reach, I could just go with the wind, wherever and however long it takes me. Weightless. Unanchored. Free.
A fun edit and one of my favorite subjects, the Great Grey Owl. This was captured from my truck with a Nikon 200-500mm lens (at 500mm). I’m looking forward to an upcoming trip to the mountains and look forward to adding some more content soon!
I know a place that I can go
And nowadays I call it home
Some argue that it's make-believe
Oh, if only their eyes could see
That the forest is full of evergreens
And that none of the stars are out of reach
They can shoot us across the canopy
Make your wishes and count to three
(One, two, three)

Plant and herb combinations that work together make for powerful medicine. Some herbs tackle symptoms, others go for the root cause while others harmonize to help them all work together. #yourinnerdragon⠀
