I was up around Carmacks, Yukon working on a story last weekend. I had planned to stop by the always enchanting Twin Lakes at sunset time on the way back home, but I was running late... still, I decided to pull over and pop up the drone and managed to capture this twilight shot, after the sun had already tucked behind nearby mountains. For the technically inclined, this is a 1/13th of a second aerial shot at f2.8, ISO100. I'll take it!
Sometimes you take a picture that satisfies your entire purpose of being a photographer. This would be one of those... a sliver through the trees that captured the amazingness of our surroundings. The details of the glacier, the blue of the lake, the expanse of the terrain. I love it all... and it's things like this that motivate me to keep shooting.
Monarch butterfly at the Big Creek National Wildlife Area near Long Point Provincial Park in Ontario. I've seen so many monarchs this year. #monarch#ontarioparks#butterfly
