It’s the little things.
The people that amaze me are the ones who don’t let the little things fall through the cracks. In my own life, when I get overly busy, the first things to start slipping are so easily overlooked.
When something “big and important” is consuming my energy, it’s a lot harder to keep up on the small stuff, whether taking out the trash; replying to those unread FB messages; calling a dear friend... Guys, these things matter.
When someone who is insanely busy takes the time to go for coffee, or remembers to pick up the milk, or notices I’m having an off day and stops to ask... these are the people who blow my mind.
I’m not there yet, but I want to be. I want to accomplish crazy stuff and be productive, but not at the expense of strong relationships and a clean fridge.

Ending my extended weekend in a quiet corner, having dinner and conversations. As much as I welcome this comfortable run I’ve been on, there’s a part of me that misses being uncomfortable. I recently read a quote that said “When you are in a comfort zone, you have no desire to be who you are." We all want to be comfortable, but it’s that comfort that almost always leads to our undoing. So here’s to be uncomfortable. It’s only then that you see what you’re made of. // #cwanky
#Suzystuesdaytruth: until last week I forgot how much you guys cared about my passion project of closet curation. Ummm hello!!! Sorry for dropping the blog ball and then ceasing all talks of capsule wardrobes and closet makeovers. Fail. Almost as epic as taking Archie out in -2 degree weather today without a coat 🤦🏼♀️ (the heated garage always throws me off) Anywhoo. I’ve decided I want to do an insta course on closet curation, finding personal style and building your perfect wardrobe (capsule or not). Would you guys be up for that? Starting March 5th? We will do daily challenges on insta lives and videos? Maybe if I get crazy an email handout or two.... maybe ☺️. Creating a curated capsule wardrobe literally changed my life and I would love to share alllll the things I’ve learned with you guys. Unless there is only like two of you who care... and those two of you are my sisters... then let’s pretend I never threw this out there 😜.
Loved spending the afternoon shooting with these sweet girls! They were brave and let me take them outside for some gorgeous portraits, but we started out inside this adorable candy/soda shop! @rocketfizzkirkland

I’ve had the best time watching the Olympics with my little 4 year old son. He ‘ooh’s and ‘ahhh’s and the perfect moments! We were watching big air for snowboarding and every time someone fell he would say ‘oh man!’ It’s made me so happy! I love being able to enjoy this with him! ❤️ #haleyjeanphoto#haleyjeanengagement
In honor of starting something new today, I’m throwing it back to something old. I started a new job today and boy was it humbling. I think it’s good for me for be in situations every now and then where I have absolutely no comfort, because it forces me to remember where my help and strength really comes from.
Last week we had the awesome opportunity of doing a hard hat tour of Houston’s newest venue @therevaire. Y’all it was gorgeous, even under construction! We are so excited for all of the success headed to our friends at The Revaire! If you’re a bride book your private tour now. 🍾 Congrats friends! We are cheering you on! 🍾Big hugs to Becka of @ourlittleranchphotography for snagging this rare bts photo of @kmitcham and I. Clearly I didn’t get the dress code memo 😂

We decided to go out for a walk to our little local store for a date today.
Its been a cool and patchy rainy day and so we quickly lapped up the little time we had between showers and walked and talked together and played whizzies with Teddy Squeeze.
Then we sat down to a little Bubbacino and special treat. I love my little town so much. I dont come to this store enough. It really puts our little town on the map. Everyone knows it when I say where I live.
They do the most devine Wood Fire Pizzas on the weekends too.
Sitting in the cafe there was the first of a little developing gathering of the local Cawongla eldely folk and Aurie had no problem with introducing herself running straight up to them in all her energentic glory. They were the lovliest to my little flower. Even though she decided to charm them with constant little squeals toward the end when she was getting tired. 😨
She is napping so sweetly now.

tried out a bath bomb for the very first time aaaaand I’ve gotta day I don’t think baths are for me. For one, I’m such a baby when it comes to hot water. Also the bath in this apartment is too short for my body.. but anyways this bath bomb smelled quite nice 👌🏼
Double tap if you've felt any ounce of stress lately. 🙋🏼
I have felt stress lately and today I dabbled in some of my favorite ways to practice "self care". (I used to be better about it and lately I haven't done my best). 🤷🏼♀️
Today I was able to lunch with some friends, book a spontaneous acupuncture appointment, shop and paint a little! (Please note the cup I'm using for paint water above is an old Capri candle container and I love it).
