Views from the top of Koko Head a couple days ago! 19 Mins up, not my fastest time but pretty good considering how crowded it was. Zero breaks other than waiting on people. Go away bad weather, I’m looking to adventure all weekend! #Aloha ⛰🌴🌊
Beautiful day in Borobudur temple, Jogjakarta-Indonesia. *The world’s largest Buddhist temple *Magnificent building and architecture *Located in Central Java *It’s 10hrs 45 min by car from Jakarta or 2 hrs by plane.
*Borobudur lay hidden for centuries under layers of volcanic ash and jungle growth.
Keep friends and people who will push you outside your comfort zone or more so inspire you to new heights and endeavors. So funny, but as soon as I started to capture the magic from the air, I somehow relaxed. My camera an extension of my heart, let me focus on the beauty and forget about the worries. I realized that maybe I might be one of the only photographers to have a unique capture from the Bay Bridge like shown below. So instead I just became grateful, smiled and pretended that Evelyn wasn’t flying the plane and that all was as it should be. Read more on our blog on how this anxious flyer attempted aerial photography and no not a #droneshot

I awoke around four in the morning to move through the traffic of Jaipur, India to reach Galtiji Monkey Temple by dawn. After meditating with the sunrise, I came across this tribe of monkeys, so I tuned in for awhile, feeling their playfulness & awareness, watching them leaping, curling, bathing in the light. Then I captured a single photo.
I used my wide-angle 11-17mm lens (& f22 for the sunburst), so I was even closer to the monkeys than it appears. I was a foot or two away from the small one on the wall. I felt their comfortability & that they actually welcomed this being taken.
It's powerful to really sit with a moment, deeply, to ask what it has to share & wait for the space when it doesn't even feel as though you are the one creating the image or clicking the shutter. Photography can be an invitation to get lost even more in the now, to feel deeper presence in each moment, to notice what might otherwise go unseen. Rather than trying to create a perfect shot, I feel we also have this opportunity for the photographer to dissolve, to feel & see so deeply the moment itself... all that's left is the witness to a glimpse of perfection.
