My favorite view 😍 I’m all stocked up on real foods and ready to take on the week! These are foods you will ALWAYS find in my kitchen & underneath it all are some nice chocolate bars because I like balance & chocolate 👍 One of the biggest things I’ve learned about living a healthy lifestyle is that you need to fuel your body (real foods & balanced meals) but also realize that this is a LIFESTYLE & it’s not something that happens over night nor should you be restricting yourself from certain things. I know that I need to fuel my body properly so I can workout right and feel good and I also know that for my sanity, sometimes I need some flipping chocolate. Treat your body good ✌️
Can I just say SHOUT OUT to this weeks Prep Queen 👸🏻🙌🏻. Janice 😉🤗
No this isn’t my refrigerator. No this isn’t a stock photo found in a search. THIS IMAGE is from one of my ROCKSTARS kicking butt in her Lifestyle Change Journey!!
YES food prepping TAKES time! It’s a
*skill* I say! It’s for some and not for others. I personally always look at these *pros* and say DANG YOU GO GIRL! .
Here’s how I see it—If taking that time makes you THAT MUCH MORE successful for the rest of the week — then HECK go for it! I KNOW she knows she feels great and confident for the week because she won’t need to worry about taking the time each day to prepare her meals. So HANDS DOWN — YOU ROCK ...this is awesome!!
Fail to Plan - Plan to Fail! How ever that Plan looks to you...DO IT WELL and you’ll be all set! 👍🏻👍🏻❤️

One of the most empowering things we can do for our health + happiness: pantry clean out! We challenge you to take 30 minutes this week to rid your kitchen of any foodstuffs that no longer serve your wellbeing-based goals. Can of sugar-laden peaches from 2004? Yup, ya gotta go. Get yourself some clear jars from your local bulk food store (or use up 12 jars of almond butter, soak them in hot water + use them 😋) and fill them with the goodies that truly sustain you. Imagine opening your pantry to this 👆🏽🙀👏🏽

How do you only eat 2 meals a day? Is the question I get most often, until people see the size of the meals!
I incorporate a version of intermittent fasting into most days. Skipping breakfast and enjoying a big lunch and dinner.
Eating bigger meals less often suits me as I prefer to feel full after a meal..
What’s your preferred meal plan/timing?

Interested to see what a vegan Chinese New Year dinner looks like? Swipe to see 👉 🌱 1. Leafy green veggies 🌱 2. Soup with reishi mushroom, shiitake mushrooms, dates, etc. 🌱 3. This one you may be like 😫. These black looking things, terrestrial cyanobacteria, is something people eat only on special occasions like CNY. They are rich in protein and is a source of iron, potassium, and phosphorus. 🌱 4. Beancurd rolls with a garlic and preserved black bean sauce. 🌱 5. Braised white radishes with beancurd, carrots and textured soy protein in a 5 spice sauce (i.e. star anise and stuff). 🌱 6. Soy chicken with white pepper salt. 🌱 And no I did not make any of this cuz I really dunno how 🤣. Thanks to my mama for cooking a great meal in such a short amount of time.

So you want to start cooking more. You know it's healthier and are pretty sure it's cheaper. But you have no idea where to start nor do you want the "learning to cook process" take a long time. You're busy. You've got important things to do today. Don't worry, I get it. I've been there.
This is why I created the “Where To Start” section of my blog. It shares templates instead of specific recipes to give you some structure and allow you room for creative in the kitchen! Cooking can be daunting but I promise you can do it. First step: get out there and get start!
A dish that helped build my confidence in the kitchen was baked salmon and asparagus (both recipes can be found in the “Where to Start” section). Making delicious seafood made me think “if I can make this, what else can I do” and it all cascaded from their. Hope you have a similar experience!
As always: know your ingredients, know your costs!
Happy boy tonight! @annieshomegrown white cheddar shells doctored up with grassfed butter, grassfed milk, butternut squash puree, extra sharp cheddar, peas, spinach, and tuna!
He also had several sheets of nori as an appetizer, and a piece of @traderjoes dried mango for dessert. 😁
🌱Walnut-mushroom flatbread with apricots and lemon-tahini dressing! Perfect for a lovely Sunday...especially when you can feel Spring in the air!

I'M SO PROUD. I haven't legitimately meal prepped in... I don't know how long. 🙈 Usually Leah and I just make rice and eat random things throughout the kitchen...hahaha. But tonight! Tonight I meal prepped like a boss!!! Baked spaghetti squash, grain free vegan "meat"balls, cashew queso dip, zoodles, homemade pesto, and cilantro lime rice with chipotle black beans for taco bowls! 😍😍😍 It took me three hours, and I have a few more dishes to do, but now tomorrow I can focus on work, laundry, and self care instead of scrambling to gather sustenance. 😂😂 Phew, this feels so grear to have this done!! How about y'all? Did you guys get meal prepping done today too?! What did you make?! #vegan#glutenfree#mealprepsunday
Knowing your farmer, your chef, and your ingredients keep us connected to the earth, to our bodies, and to each other. Tonight’s pop up dinner by @chicomecoatlien / @marsdemari embodied that notion in every dish. Ancient grain gnocchi with a toasted mole and cashew creme melted away on the palate, and the story behind the ingredients is as powerful. Thank you for being so thoughtful. It was scrumptious.

Let’s talk for a moment about SELF-SABOTAGE and our health 🤷🏻♀️ When clients come in, one of the first things we go over is my list of “guiding principles” 💗 One of my personal favorite principles from the list is: “We are often our own worst enemy and stand in our own way. Planning ahead is your best weapon against self-sabotage.” 💪 How are you going to plan ahead to make this week your healthiest yet? 🍏 Maybe you take a minute to meal prep some overnight oats for breakfast, or grill an extra chicken breast for tomorrow night’s dinner 🥗 Small changes can add up to big results! 💋 Time to get out of your own way and make some positive change in your life! 👏

There are brunch spots that happen to serve dinner and then there are dinner spots that serve brunch. Part 2 of this Chinatown/ LES #crunchandbrunch combo, Le Turtle is very much so the latter but turns out a pretty solid brunch for your post workout needs. The area is crawling with brunch spots, between @dimestimes, @nickelanddiner, @lalito_nyc@jajaja, you can’t go wrong. But for deceivingly complex dishes, Le Turtle delivers. Case and point: this charred broccoli salad with kale, pistachio and rotisserie chicken and the egg and avocado bowl that seems straightforward until you take a bite of that forbidden rice. Don’t know what they do to it butttt YES.
Sunday brunchin at home 👌🏼 Scrambled eggs, avocado, roasted cauli, roasted red peppers, micro-greens + kale cashew pesto 🌿 Just relaxing at home and working on some more wedding planning with Nick 🙃 Hope you all have a great day! ✨

there are a bunch of reasons why i typically avoid dairy—that’s for another post—but when i do eat it, quality is extremely important to me, and i always, no matter what the quality is, need a digestive enzyme to help my body break it down. the times when i forget or don’t have them in my purse, my tummy is NOT happy. and neither is my husband bc he gets to sleep with me at night 😂🤷🏻♀️ @silverfernbrand (my go-to probiotic brand) just launched their digestive enzymes. i can’t tell you i’ve been taking it for a year like i have their probiotics. but i’ve been taking it for the past few weeks, and so far i give it a two thumbs up 👍🏼 i take it with a meal that i know my body might have a hard time digesting, and i haven’t experienced any gassiness or bloating, which means it’s working! if you struggle with the same issues with digestion, these are worth checking out! || this food: kale caesar salad from @bluebarnmarin and house tangerine cardamom @marinkombucha kombucha 🙌🏼 #kalejunkie#silverfernbrand#sponsored
Sharing my simple healthy dinner from the other night! My favorite ‘fried chicken’ is simply grinding up some crackers (I love @simplemills almond flour crackers as well as @jilzcrackerz crackers) and then dipping your chicken in egg followed by the cracker crumbs. I fry it in @chosenfoods avocado oil (on both sides til there’s no more pink in the middle) and that’s it - too simple (and delish)!! Served it w some vegan kale caesar & roasted sweet potato wedges! .
Hope you’re all having a great weekend! I’m having a super lazy day!!
