It’s heart breaking how much trauma these beautiful creatures have gone through. Whether it be damaged spines, slashed ears or malnutrition from being worker elephants for shows, rides or logging - their lives shouldn’t have to be cut short just for human entertainment 😢
If you ever want to witness these majestic beings, definitely visit a sanctuary like this one!

Heading on safari tomorrow to a very diverse wilderness areas. This was taken on a memorable safaris in the Okavango Delta - playing with an orphaned elephant. As you can see, I am having the best time with him. Stronger than you would realise! @wearewilderness
Special thanks from the #elephants and Care Staff to all those who donated to The Sanctuary's Christmas tree collection! We received an amazing response from supporters from all over Middle #Tennessee and surrounding areas. We look forward to hosting a collection again next year.
photo by @renaeffendiphoto // Jun Peng is a sixty-seven-year-old female elephant whose previous owner made a hole in her ear and tied a rope to it in order to pull her. Jun Peng's new caretaker - Pati, himself a refugee, inserts a fresh flower in her ear every morning. Dozens of elephants have been rescued here at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiangmai, Thailand from exploitation in logging and other abusive treatment.
