So I’m in Gloucester today for a day of Fitness Instructing.. Part of the work that I offer consists of exercise programs, chair based classes and exercise therapy for people with impairments/disabilities of all capacities.. Before I got involved in the fitness industry I’d worked and volunteered in the care sector in different roles for many years.
So this was always something that’s been very close to home for me. I love being able to give everyone an opportunity to exercise and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in some capacity. “Your life will become better by making other lives better” - Will Smith
There are a few phases of the emotional and psychological growing up. In the first stage you are a helpless little thing relying on love and #kindness of others, instinct (and cuteness), then you become a carefree rascal, the one that sees kingdoms and worlds in an old blanket fort or a forgotten attic. Here you are #free for a while and truly yourself not weight down by expectation. Then the world asks of you to compete with your #friends , it grades you and measures you by your #ability to be the same as everyone else. You will take standardized tests and go through the standardized education to be accepted into your future roles of workforce and consumer... At this point you get to #choose once again ( you just forget that you have a #choice while you were still trying to pass an invisible test of which you don't know the rules). You can choose to be the maker or spender of things, the one that brings #new ideas or follows the widest possible path in order to make no mistakes. Your passions will be weight against how "practical" they are in the "real" world. You are fully mentally grown up and ready to learn more once you have dealt with the infantile notion that the world is somehow responsible for where you are, what you have and do and how you feel and when you stop exporting responsibility and playing the victim in learnt helplessness, which then needs to be silenced by consuming and addiction large and small. Nothing outside can be controlled unless you first control yourself, nor can the neuroticism of trying to control everything be let go until you find out how #strong you are and that it doesn't matter what happens but how you react to it.
No one else is responsible for your #mental and #emotional hygiene, they can't make you feel something or make you be something you didn’t allow. Take responsibility to #try , #change , #feel , #grow , #forgive , #accept and #live . Those who don't decide will have their path decided by circumstances. Ever today counts and in each one you can choose. Ain't that good news!? 😉
Insanely fast workout complete ✔️
Did you know you can get a good workout in about 20 minutes? That's in the gym or at home with ZERO equipment.
PLEASE don't tell me that a lack of time is your excuse for not exercising. Tell me you're lazy or tell me you don't feel like it, but don't tell me you don't have the time!

This morning I took a story poll on seeing your “dream body” on social media, and how you react to it. Its still up & but the results are already interesting.
Instead of being motivated, many are left feeling bad about it. The guilt of not looking like they want. So why is this? 🤔
I can speak for both sides of this because I’ve been on both sides of this. I used to feel so many emotions when I saw my “goal” body online or in person. I used to feel saddened. Disappointed in myself that I didn’t loo like that. Embarrassingly, I felt jealous. I hated feeling those emotions even more than I hated not looking like I wanted to. I was just so disappointed in myself. Why? Because I knew I could be better and I was doing it to myself.
I knew I could be better but I was mad that I wasn’t practicing discipline to reach my goals. I knew that those girls weren’t “special” in the sense that they didn’t have to work their butt off to reach their goals. I knew it was 100% ME holding myself back and it made me mad 🙄 Isn’t that stupid? I was so annoyed with myself.
One day I realized this. It was like a lightbulb 💡I just saw it so clear and I decided to not hold myself back anymore. In that moment, my life changed. I lost my jealous, angry attitude and I became overwhelmingly motivated. I was motivated because I KNEW that I was in control and I REFUSED to let myself down. I was so excited and still carry that excitement!
I dropped my attitude and picked up a new outlook on life because this applies for so much more than fitness. You have to WORK for what you want! Was there anything wrong with my before body? Absolutely not. However what WAS wrong, was knowing I could be better but selling myself short and not trying. Thats not okay in any sense. Grow yourself. Grow your mind, your heart, your effort & your life. If you know you can be better, then be better.
Many will say I look better before. Which is fine. But in my attempt to "look" better in the beginning, I learned more importantly that I FEEL better! I feel accomplished, I feel proud & I feel like a new person! When you decide you CAN, then you DO.. there's no better feeling in the world!
Once you make your passion your income, it is easy to get lost in the business of what you’re doing and forget that you are doing what you do in the first place because you absolutely love it - don’t forget the reason behind what you do and how it is a blessing to contribute to the world and provide others with value through gifts you were given! #MCfit
