I have heaps of beetroot, pumpkin & sweet potato at the moment so I whipped up some dips this morning. OMG they are super delish!!!! 4 ingredients in each plus a few spices and super easy to make = winner!!! Heres what I did:
- peel & cube beets, sweet potato & pumpkin. Roast with few garlic cloves, salt, pepper, cumin and a drizzle of coconut oil and bake until tender. Cool slightly. (I used 2 trays to keep colours separate 😉)
In thermie added:
- 240g mixed roast pumpkin, sweet potatoes and garlic cloves
- 115g cannellini beans, approx 1/2 can (rinsed and drained)
- 20g tahini
- 90g cashews
- salt, pepper & cumin
Blitz on speed 5 for 10 secs, scrape and repeat. I like my dip chunky but repeat again if prefer smoother.
Without washing out jug I then made beetroot dip:
- 220g roast beets & garlic
- 115g cannellini beans (rinsed and drained)
- 20g tahini
- 90g pepita seeds
- salt, pepper, cumin & coriander
Blitz on speed 5 for 10 seconds, scrape and repeat until consistency you prefer achieved.

When I started eating Paleo years ago (which resulted in immense improvements in my health) I ate a lot of eggs because it was easy and familiar to me. After a while, this resulted in my developing a sensitivity to them due to overexposure (and probably due to them not the best quality which is something I emphasize much more with my food choices now and also to the state of my compromised gut).
Since then, I’ve come a long way and have been able to personalize my diet, so I now follow what I call a “Paleo template” (or my “Personal Nutrition Blueprint” as I provide as my specialty working with 1:1 clients).
So when I saw these cafe free duck eggs on sale today I couldn’t resist buying them. And boy were they worth it! I didn’t necessarily think I could notice a difference, but they were definitely more creamy and satisfying with larger yolks.🥚(P.S. And yes, in case you haven’t heard...you should EAT THE YOLKS!)
Have you tried duck of eggs and noticed a difference in taste? If not, I highly recommend them!

Late valentines date at Brazilian Steak House. Only took a pic of my salad plate but don’t worry I ate lots of meat. I decided to just enjoy my time instead of documenting all the steak bites. Just imagine them #ketovalentines#texasdebrazil
Life’s pretty spectacular when you’re surrounded by Rumbles
Well that’s what @drbretthill thinks!
Here’s why Brett is proud to call himself a Rumbler #imarumbler “I love Rumbles because they’re so passionate about what they put into their products and actually helping improve the health of their community. Plus, they’re products are soooooo delicious!”
Did you know that Gelatin contains Glycine, an amino acid, which stimulates the secretions of gastric acid in the stomach?! 😍This promotes proper digestion and aids in the breaking down of proteins! 🌟Fascinating!🌟 There are delicious ways to up your gelatin intake -- like making this Homemade Gummy Candy! Even among my little crew, our diets look very different!
I often opt for no meat.
My kids get a tiny bit of dairy if they ask and tons of Guac and plantains!
My hubby adds extra hot sauce and tons of cheese -
We all get salads but not all salads are created equal. Not everyone’s body needs or can have the same things. Don’t be afraid to try different things and eat what makes you feel right!
I always try to plan and easy meal for Monday night and this Paleo Chicken Stir-fry is one of my favorites.
It is super easy to throw together, incredibly delicious AND soy free! -

This bowl of goods was the perfect dinner for a snow day. .
I know, you may be thinking soup would be a better snow day option. No worries, I had soup for breakfast 😉 #thinkoutsidethebox .
Now back to this bowl of goods: wild caught salmon baked with my homemade pistachio arugula pesto, roasted rainbow carrots and roasted okra. You guys, pesto salmon is everything and I’m head over heels. .
Now, time for some pug snugs and hot cocoa! Xo
Omega-3s in the house. 🙌🏼🐟 This healthy little combo is simply delicious: Wild caught salmon served atop a pile of kale, tomatoes, crispy chickpea croutons, lemon, and Chosen Foods Avo Oil. 🥑💪🏼 Happy Monday! ✨ 📷:: @_justbeetit⠀

When filet mignon is on sale for $6.99/lb you bet your ass you’re eating steak on #MeatlessMonday 😂 Grabbed this 🥩 from my favorite little market down the street. They have amazing finds (clearly) and I cannot wait until summer when their adjoining clam shack is open again 🤘
...aaaaand dessert! This is a bowl of heavy whip to which I added cocoa powder, cinnamon, vanilla, and cayenne. Yes, heat so it’s kind of like Mexican chocolate. Topped with some Lily’s sf choco chips and now we are fasting for the next 16 hours. (May the force be with me 😱) #lowcarb#jerf#ketogenic#lchf#keto

Stone fruit is soooo cheap at the moment.
Last night I baked a huge bunch in water and vanilla. Here’s how I’ll use it:
- on top of muesli
- the liquid I’ll make in to jelly (recipe coming next week for that one, subscribe in my blog for it)
- blend some of the fruit and make gummies
- put it with yoghurt for recess in the lunchboxes.
Any other ideas?
Meal Prep Monday!
After dealing with a sick fur baby this weekend, I had to deal with a sick man child and now I’m starting to feel a little run down myself. 😷Is this what happens?! You get off Whole30 and your body just betrays you?! 😱Rude.
Anyway, here’s what I made this week. This took me about 2 hours from start to finish. Not too shabby for meals for the week for 2 people. 😉 ✌🏼 (and all by my lonesome since man child was passed out on the couch)

The boys had pizza tonight & usually it doesn’t phase me, but tonight those carbs were calling my name! I made myself a BIG plate of bacon-wrapped asparagus instead and 🤤❤️🤤 Seriously, so good & so easy!! If I hadn’t finished the last of the bacon I’d probably be eating this every night this week.. Yummmm!!!
🙌 #motivationmonday Down almost 200 pounds! Highest weight 447.2! Now mid 250’s I’ve switched to weighing in once per month so not sure of my exact weight.

Have you heard of primary food and secondary food? Primary foods are relationships, career, physical exercise and spirituality, which when are in balance create happiness and longevity. Secondary foods are the foods we eat. When our primary foods are balanced, we have less issues with secondary foods. Simple, logical idea, right? But it’s challenging to make it through this life without some imbalance. Working towards balance - what makes us happy - each day is a good goal to keep as our focus. Sometimes that can take form as ending a toxic relationship or job we hate - or learning how to like that job that we don’t love (changing our mindset)...bc we need a paycheck. 😐Perhaps it’s starting an exercise plan that works for us, not what everyone else is doing but something that suits our lifestyle and our needs. Or maybe it’s adopting some type of spiritual practice whether it be attending religious services, meditating, or praying. Loving, meaningful relationships are a big part of what helps keep us balanced. People die of loneliness. And many people become sick bc of it. ☹️
My husband and I have been married over 25 years. We’ve had our ups and downs - and through that we've learned to prioritize our marriage. For us “reconnecting” from time to time is key. Unplugging, being away from regular life, spending time together, laughing and listening to each other...remembering why we wanted to be together in the first place all seems to keep us on the right track. 💗
How are your primary foods? Do you see the connection between what’s going on in your life and what you’re eating/how you’re feeling physically? Wishing you love, light and clarity ☀️
CHARD! Guys, I'm just making life up as I go here. I have never cooked whole chard before. I usually get the baby chard in mixed greens. But here we go!
1 bunch green chard
1 tbsp ghee/butter
1 tbsp bacon fat
1 tsp flaked garlic (2 minced cloves)
1/8th tsp red pepper flakes
1/8th tsp sea salt
1-2 tbsp fresh juice of lemon
De-stem the chard and cut into strips. Heat a skillet (cast iron preferably) to medium heat, add ghee and bacon fat. Once melted add chard. Saute until wilted, then add the rest of the ingredients. Toss and serve.
So delicious! I'll share how I served it in the next post! 💓

I have three major weaknesses: Swedish fish 🐟, Hallmark Christmas movies 🎄+ French fries 🍟. Only one of those things allows me to play with my new air fryer, so French fries it is. 😃 How I did these seasoned bad boys with avo dip👇🏼 #savoringtheflavoring •
1. I cut a couple russet potatoes into fries + tossed ‘em with a couple tbsp avocado oil + some nutritional yeast + sea salt + cumin + garlic powder + smoked paprika, then put them in the air fryer on 400 for about 18 min, tossing halfway through.
2. Avocado dip: I tossed 1/2 an avocado + a spoonful of Greek yogurt + the juice of 1/2 a lime + a handful each of baby spinach + cilantro + garlic powder + sea salt + cumin + a splash of water in the blender + blended until smooth, then double-dipped alllllll up in it. 🤤👌🏼

there are a bunch of reasons why i typically avoid dairy—that’s for another post—but when i do eat it, quality is extremely important to me, and i always, no matter what the quality is, need a digestive enzyme to help my body break it down. the times when i forget or don’t have them in my purse, my tummy is NOT happy. and neither is my husband bc he gets to sleep with me at night 😂🤷🏻♀️ @silverfernbrand (my go-to probiotic brand) just launched their digestive enzymes. i can’t tell you i’ve been taking it for a year like i have their probiotics. but i’ve been taking it for the past few weeks, and so far i give it a two thumbs up 👍🏼 i take it with a meal that i know my body might have a hard time digesting, and i haven’t experienced any gassiness or bloating, which means it’s working! if you struggle with the same issues with digestion, these are worth checking out! || this food: kale caesar salad from @bluebarnmarin and house tangerine cardamom @marinkombucha kombucha 🙌🏼 #kalejunkie#silverfernbrand#sponsored
