Am I posing in the English countryside?
Nope, this cute little cottage is in St. James's Park which is right in the middle of London (just in front of Buckingham Palace)!
Pro tip: in summer they set out deck-chairs and beanbags here, perfect for lounging around and enjoying the sunshine!
...kids waiting in line for a plate of beans and rice...where they go home and share that with their families...and most likely it’s there one meal of the day... .
From my travel journey....
“So many people are unhappy with their lives. People are fighting because of white people, black people, racism, hatred, religion, power, jobs, inequality. .
People complain about their jobs, homes, families, relationships, cars, money. Nothing is ever good enough. If you have travelled and experienced first hand hunger, seen children that want to go to school, and etc maybe you wouldn’t complain as much.”
There’s so many people in the world that only get one meal a day...if that.
So many people that have ten people sleeping in one room on the floor.
So many kids that want to go to school, but can’t afford it.
So many people that eat the rotten bananas or stale bread because that’s all they have.
Kids that ask for a pen, paper, or socks instead of iPads and phones.
People that need socks or shoes.
I could go on and on, but I think you get it. Be grateful for what you have. Give. Help people. And stop complaining about the small stuff, cuz it doesn’t really matter.
I say this because I was complaining about working on a Saturday, but I’m lucky I have a job. I’m lucky I have my own place. I’m lucky I’m living my dream. So few people can say that. And if you can read it, then perhaps you too should be grateful.
One more thing to help you feel safe on your solo travels.
For a Fashionable Way to Wear a Whistle
You might have been gifted with an, ahem, unnecessary set of pepper sprays and Swiss Army knives to protect you before you head to Southeast Asia for a few months, but this upgrade to the traditional whistle is both practical and pretty. While at first glance — and to passersby — it appears to be a statement necklace, it’s actually a super-loud whistle you can use if you’re ever in a tricky situation and need assistance.
Still one of our best-sellers. Rachel @hippieinheelsblog wears it beautifully on the beach in Goa: the Pitusa Puma Dress. Looks amazing on the beach as well as in the bar 🏝

Seriously how cute is this outdoor space at @lalaguna_granhotel ??⠀
Apparently La Laguna gets the least amount of sun on the island but I still loved staying here. The hotel is stunning and I got to eat at an all organic restaurant right around the corner @tasca61tasca
