In CELEBRATION of #BlackHistoryMonth…
MY BLACK History
This is truly a woman I would have loved to have known....so far ahead of her time!
Dr. Lucille Miller is David Miller’s great grandmother. She was an honored teacher before entering Medical School Meharry Medical School of Medicine
She was the ONLY woman in her graduating class in February 1900. She is the FIRST Black woman to receive her medical license in the state of Mississippi
Her medical license allowed her to practice medicine and surgery equal with all other physicians.
We also found out that she was the National Secretary for the National Medical Association! The National Medical Association She was at a meeting in Chicago in COOK
COUNTY when she passed away in the early 1900's.
I can't help but wonder if she or her husband Dr. S. A. Miller were ever in the company of my great-grandfather Dr. Harrison Duke. They were all in Chicago in COOK COUNTY around the same timeframe. I keep looking to find that connection

I used to hear people say how much happier they are after coming out, i used to think as a scared kid how it could be possible to be happy when you have so many people who judge you and disagree with who you are. I carried a lot of shame and confusion about who I am for a very long time. But I knew I loved myself enough to give myself a chance at a life I felt I deserved. I don’t know I guess what I’m trying to say is when you hear people say how much happier they are after coming out believe them because it doesn’t matter how many people don’t support you as long as you support yourself then everything will be gucci 💯 #comingout#pride#ftmtrans#ftmtransgender#ftm#transgender#trans#transteen#transguy#lgbt#pride
