ANIMAL AGRICULTURE 👉🏽 KILLING THE CLIMATE & THE PLANET
Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
Agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of US water consumption. Throughout the world, humans dritnk 5.2 billion gallons of water and eat 21 billion pounds of food each day. Worldwide, cows drink 45 billion gallons of water and eat 135 billion pounds of food each day. Hence the cows consume 6-9 times more than humans. Also, did you know that 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce 1 pound of beef.
Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of Amazon destruction and 1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared every second. The leading causes of rainforest destruction are livestock and feedcrops. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction. Livestock operations on land have created more than 500 nitrogen flooded deadzones around the world in our oceans. For you to understand how inefficient animal agriculture is 1.5 acres can produce 37,000 pounds of plant-based food, 1.5 acres can produce 375 pounds of beef....
70 billion farmed animals are reared annually worldwide. No wonder we need to kill the rainforest grow crops fertilize and destroy our soil and oceans. More than 6 million animals are killed for food every hour.
A person who follows a vegan diet produces the equivalent of 50% less carbon dioxide, uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-lover for their food.

My good friend @susanniebergallfitness nailed this simple comparison of what to do and what NOT to do when trying to burn unwanted fat and get leaner. She is honestly one of the most inspirational health accounts on IG so I highly recommend you give her a follow
I’ll let her take it from here👇🏽
💥THE SECRET TO BURNING FAT💥
🐶You know, there is a lot of chatter out there from companies who want you to believe that there are short cuts to losing fat. And who doesn’t want a short cut, right?
🦁The problem with that is there are no short cuts. None. Zero. All of the detoxes, the teas, the wraps, the “fat burners” won’t do a thing for you. They are just a waste of your money. And overly restricting calories isn’t sustainable for the long haul.
🐥So,instead of looking for the shortcut, look at what habits you can instill that will last you a life time. It is a long game after all:
🍇 Create a calorie deficit. Contrary to what you think, you don’t need to be in a big deficit to lose fat. Track what you are eating and drinking and be consistent
🐚Consuming protein at every meal can be a game changer. 20-40 grams is a great place to start. Having protein at every meal alongside veggies and fruit is a winning combo
🦆Strength train and add in some cardio you love. Hours and hours on the elliptical may burn some calories, but it also may burn your muscle as well. Shift your focus to strength training and add in some cardio that you love and you will burn calories AND build muscle
🦄Oh, and don’t forget to smile. Life is too short to not smile😀

What came first - the chicken or the egg? 🐓 Really I love utilizing the whole chicken! ❤️ My favorite new thing is to cook a whole chicken in an instant pot. If you’re choosing between different parts, here’s a look at calories, protein & fat.
Personally I think the chicken thigh is delicious and really underrated. Breakdown below:
6 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast - 186 calories, 39g protein, 2.1g fat
1 chicken drumstick with skin - 140 calories, 17g protein, 7.2g fat
1 chicken thigh - 206 calories, 28g protein, 10g fat
1 egg - 78 calories, 6.3g protein, 5.3g fat
Awesome post by @marcinevin! If you’re trying to add protein to more of your meals, this post is for you! Save it & tag a friend who is working on eating more protein! 💪💪💪
After much request, here are 6 more high protein meal ideas. If you missed Part 1, you can find it a few posts back.
A couple of things to point out here:
These aren’t exact recipes. I was more focused on highlighting the combination of foods that will amount to 30 grams of protein. You can always add your own condiments, spices, sauces, etc. to make it suit your taste. You can also add more veggies and fruit to these meals, which will increase the nutrient density and satiety for very few calories.
I realize most of these aren’t vegetarian/vegan friendly. If you’d like to see more meat free options, let me know in the comments.
