Financial peace isn’t the acquisition of stuff. It’s learning to live on less than you make, so you can give money back and have money to invest. You can’t win until you do this. - Dave Ramsey •
Here is to a great week of living on less than we make. It’s starts of by doing small things such as: •
Packing lunch instead of buying •
Less driving around to save gas •
Eating out less
Using cleaning detergents in your home sparingly
Using water and electricity sparingly both at home and office •
Make these habits a part of your daily routine and see significant changes in your life financially. Teach your kids and your helper at home too. Make it a family thing. Make it a thing in your office too. •
P.s remember to save, invest and give away some of the extra money you have made from doing the above.
Every Sunday night Steph and I make a big batch of food that we hope to last us until at least mid week. It's super cost effective! This week we treated ourselves to our pumpkin and cous cous salad, which includes some of the beautiful produce that the Summer months have to offer (luckily Steph's mum has a fig tree, because they can be so expensive!). We also had some $10 pre-marinated chicken skewers, but the salad was definitely the star of the meal 😂
Salad Ingredients below (all you have to do is combine everything!).
✔ roasted #pumpkin, seasoned wih paprika ✔ #couscous ✔ #chickpeas ✔ #pomegranate ✔ baby #spinach ✔ #mint ✔slithered almonds ✔ olive oil and lemon juice for dressing. Some optional extras we sometimes include depending on what's in our pantry and what's in season are: 🌈 #figs 🌈 sultanas 🌈 pepitas

For those of you who are relatively new to following me I thought I would give you a bit more about me. I am Lisa (26) and my Fiancée is Steph (24), we live in Manchester, UK and are saving to buy our first home (which is my lifelong dream). I currently work in education but am awaiting news on if I will be awarded the funding to do my PhD in September, Steph works in management for a hardware company. We used to live in Surrey and before that I lived in London for 6 years, we made the move to Manchester so that we could afford to buy our own home. I have always lived thriftily although I did accumulate some smallish debts at one point. We desperately want to buy a miniature dachshund when we get our first home and we excited for our future but ready to grift to get there! I like to share all our thrifty and frugal finds and how we're living well for less with you all because I adore this community!
For all my lucky European friends! You get to BOGO one day early. Don’t know how to get your rmfree dōTERRA Oils? DM me and I can help you get this - but it’s only good for Monday 2/19
Petitigrain is also known as the “man’s lavender” because it’s calming properties are so amazing but without the floral aroma. With 5 sons, this is a favorite! Both of these oils have so many uses - Lavender is like the Swiss Army Knife of holistic wellness. Love both of these so much. #qualitycounts#savemoney#thesearethebest

Many people say,👩 "I need to start traveling and get out there,” but many don't get to do it and never leave. The thing is you don't have to be rich - just creative and willing to make some changes to your current lifestyle.
1. Plan carefully. Rsearch different countries, compare flights, and see when are the on and off seasons to visit there. This could save a lot depending on the time of year you go.
2. Set up a travel savings fund.👍🏼😉⛰🛫 Figure out how much you need to put in this account each week by dividing the total dollar amount by the number of weeks leading up to the trip. This will give you an idea if you have to move your target date out.
3. Stick to your budget. If you end up spending more in one week, make up for that difference the following week. Don’t get behind in yourweekly savings.
4. Cut back somewhere. Make your own coffee, pack your lunch, get a bottle of wine at the grocery store and invite friends over rather than happy hour. Find ways to keep more money in your pocket.
5. Infuse more money into your plan. Are there any skills you can use? Visit Craigslist or Upwork which provides opportunities for freelancers. Online apps such as Letgo, Craigslist or Facebook's Marketplace allow you to sell your stuff.
Traveling is one of the greatest experiences I get to do often and there's just something about seeing other parts of the world, how other people live and just exploring. It feeds your soul. Collect moments, not things.
So where do you want to visit? 🤔
