Catalonia is gearing up for an election that will decide the future of the autonomous Spanish region. The region is set to vote on its new general assembly next week on December 21. Catalonia grabbed international attention in September after it held a referendum on wether or not to split from the rest of Spain. The referendum was plagued by violence from police who attempted to stop the vote. The referendum results showed 90% of voters favour independence but only 40% of residents voted. The referendum set of a constitution crisis for weeks following. The crisis was stopped after the Spanish PM sacked the then Catalonian general assembly and announced a election. Now Catalonia will vote on wether or not to continue on the path to independence with two major parties taking sides on each side of the issue. #catalonia#barcelona#sansebastian#bilbao#spain#madrid#cordoba#sevilla#santiago#valencia#independence#freedom#election2017#election#europe#cataloniaisnotspain
“I hope you two weren’t like this when you went away to Spain.” “Like what Ann?” “Falling out Zeke.” “We’re not falling out are we Charlie?” “No, it’s just banter!” “ Banter! Where did you find that word? For goodness sake you’re both over seventy!” “Cool!” “You’ve been spending too much time with Patrick.” “Not any more! He’s gone!”

"Elie Rogent, the Director of the Barcelona Architecture School once said of Gaudi, 'We have given this academic title either to a fool or a genius. Time will show.' Gaudi has designed a lot of buildings, this one here is Sagrada Familia, is the one to which he devoted more than 40 years of his life. I am traveling to Barcelona pretty often and every time I pass this church there is more and more details to get lost in. For me it's 100% clear, Gaudi is and was a genius and each of his buildings is as beautiful and unique as the nature, and that's because nature was his template!" #thediscoverer
