Got my day off request approved for the “Vegas” Super coming up... so before I flood my feed with even More race pictures and such, let me just throw it back to a few weeks ago, to Arizona’s Super... I’ve had this word-play in my head, not necessarily a poem... but... There was a certain sense of synchronicity to Arizona’s Spartan Race... Sonically, everything was just right!
For those of you who’ve noticed, I had a song that was gonna be my “song for this season”, which is “Push it to the limit”... that’s the song that was playing as I walked up to the venue at dawn on Saturday... (on the drive up to AZ, Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” came on, reminding me of how much I Feel that song!) ... well, as I was leaving the venue Sunday evening, that’s the last song I heard the Dj playing... it might seem pretty insignificant to many/all... but it meant everything to me. Signs are there... you just have to pay attention. Although, at times it may not seem like it, it may not be exactly what I want it to be... things like that remind me, I’m in the right path... bumps along the way, failures, struggles and short comings... but I’m where I need to be. Ride the wave. #Spartanlife#SpartanAZ#FindMeInTheMud#DoItForTheFitAid#FitAid#Cheers
Build your strengths by crawling through the barbed wires obstacles. The body is starting little rough up by crawl through between 30-50 yards of the barbed wires, which is testing your mentality on the game. The barbed wires are too low, which it might leaving a scar on your skins if you don’t stay low enough.
Training hard until you conquer it.

Did a lot of talking to my body this time. “C’Mon Legs!” “Lets do this Heart!” “Nothing to it!” “Come on Body! Stay strong!” What do you tell yourself on a run or race? #spartanaz#iamnextlevelfit
The Multi-rig. Definitely the obstacle I dreaded the most in Arizona after my bicep tear last year. Rang the bell but definitely need to keep strengthening my arm and shoulders for all the hanging #spartanrace#aroo#spartanaz#multirig#fitfour
Late on the post but these are from the Arizona race this past Sunday. The only positive for me to take out of this is that I finished. Every other part of it was horrible from a performance standpoint. The fact that I worked all night the night before and my initial flight got cancelled certainly didn’t help, but I also slacked on nutrition and workouts after LA, so I’m definitely to blame. Whatever, it’s in the past. Live, learn and be better. Redemption next week in the city where the heat is on.
Next race: Miami, February 24
So it turns out I never posted this. Spartan kicked my ass. Totally underestimated the event. 30 burpees a day didn’t really matter much in the overall scheme of things and had to do 125 for the whole event (failed 4 obstacles). The course and terrain were pretty challenging. Lots of loose footing, climbs, wind heat and dust. @dinosarah did crush it though. We finished side by side. Keep in mind that I obsessed over this for 2 months and she just shows up and runs it. So impressed by her grit and endurance. Love you babes. Next stop is the beast. #spartanrace#spartan#spartanaz
