Meet Uncle Dave. He's family alright, and rooted by his heart for connection. Maintenance is his title, but you'll also see him often checking in with cabin guests to see how their stay is going, creating a cozy fire for that lady with cold feet, or working hard to get a good laugh from a grumble. He's our version Santa, lots of jolly and an affinity for Grandma's chocolate cookies. Instead of gifts, he brings you firewood and will even give you some pointers on how to light it.

21 months tomorrow and her favorite thing to do is put her finger in her nose. She laughs the most when I kiss her side belly. Loves Cafe Rio rice, babies, purses, animals, sugar, her pacifier, her rocking chair, and grooming someone (brushing their hair, putting on their lotion, pretending to do their make-up, etc.). She has some attitude, a lot of concern for someone who's crying, and a lot of love to whomever is feeding her and taking care of her needs. She can now say Mama, Dada, ho ho ho, and uh-oh ::: and those four words seem like a win! We love her so much!
It’s been 5 Days of sailing from El Nido to Coron Philippines. Our days included deserted island hopping, eating, snorkelling, napping, swimming, reading, more eating, sun, sand, #junglejuice , and hangin with this happy group. Thank you @taophilippines for the most beautiful and raw traveling experience Jonathan and I have ever had. It was beyond anything I could have imagined. #thegoodlife
♥️ Home for the holidays ... FUREVER! Early Christmas for all involved!🎄 #Repost@susiesseniordogs (@get_repost)
・・・From totally unwanted to totally adored, 11 year old Jackson got ADOPTED!!! 💛💜💛💜 Jackson's original owners brought him to the vet requesting euthanasia. Because Jackson wasn't even close to a 'deathly state,' the vet couldn't agree and was able to convince to the owners to relinquish Jackson so he could have a second chance at life for his golden years. He was taken in by @pethavenmn animal rescue, and then adopted last month by Jennifer and her family after seeing his post on SSD! Jackson is now living a retirement life that most humans would envy. He lives on 11 acres of land, has canine siblings to romp around with, and best of all, humans who are absolutely smitten with him!
Jennifer writes, "I have a handful of dogs already and really wasn't looking to have another, but one look at Jackson and I filled out the paperwork. He just spoke to me. Something in his eyes made me think he'd be perfect for us, and the fact that we could give him everything he needs made it seem like a no brainer. All the boxes checked like it was meant to be! :) Jackson is settling in VERY well I think. He's met all our other dogs (ranging from 1.5-11 years) and they've all pretty much accepted each other. My dogs are used to having new dogs around them. And Jackson seems comfortable and loves to run around our acreage (we have 9 acres and 2 are fenced in for the dogs). His insulin shots have been not big deal too. I knew I'd be comfortable giving them (been there, done that), but my husband had never done that before. Even he was amazed at how much if a non-issue it is. So easy and fast! And Jackson doesn't bat an eye when we give him the shots. It literally takes 30 seconds and done!
Jackson is a sweetheart of a dog too, so friendly and loving. He wants nothing but to please and snuggle. How anyone gave him up or passed him over due to what really is a tiny detail (age) is beyond me. I'd encourage anyone not to let that deter them from adopting a companion!" ❤️ #seniordog#thegoodlife#secondchance#goldenyears#retirement#adoptdontshop
