Opportunities come to us in different shapes and sizes. Just because your own opportunity does not come in a fanfare does not mean you should discard or treat it lightly.
My life was going pretty well in Nigeria. I was raised in a typical middle class home with the routine of going to school, get a job after grafuatiom, have a side business if you desire and live a pretty good life!
But, all that I had to give up when I relocated.
Relocation wasn't easy ehhhh...plenty tears amid constant pains from surgery associated with childbirth. To top it all, no money. As in, zero money. That was hard considering the fact that there was no mummy or daddy to cry to. 🤣🤣🤣
I had to figure out a way to survive.
At first, I continued my path of Environmental Science, but deep down, feelings of not being satisfied abound. I wanted something more. I wanted to embrace my passion. So during the day, I worked as an Envtal Scientist and at night, I worked on starting my business.
Eventually, I launched my business online against all odds while still working.
Nothing was ever handed to me on a platter of gold. Where I am today was because I never despised little opportunities. I was willing to work my way up from rock bottom.
That's why I giggle when people tell me, it's because of the lack of capital they resorted to folding arms. Like seriously? You lack capital, but are online 24/7 engaging in unfruitful discussions. To each man his own sha and while I might not be in anyone's shoes, I will leave you with one of Warren Buffet's quotes.
"If you are born poor, it's not your fault
If you die poor, it's your fault!" What are you doing with the opportunities that daily present themselves to you?

Lonnie (left) named after the city where we lived in Tasmania for 3.5 years - Launceston. She was mine.
Banjo (right), despite what my mum originally thought, wasn’t named after the Australian poet, but after Banjo-Kazooie (the Nintendo 64 game). He belonged to my brother.
Growing up with these two was amazing. They heard about a lot of school-related problems, and were supportive without really understanding. They would fight fiercely (we’d have to separate them by spraying them with the hose), but quickly became partners in crime to break into the veggie patch.
The perfect childhood friends. They taught me a lot and I still miss them tearing around the backyard, chasing each other.

Awesome night with Gabby Bernstein in #SanFrancisco, and now I have three extra books to give away.
Reading this book, I realize perhaps it is more a way for us to give the gift of compassion to ourselves, our loved ones, and the world. 👉🏾Putting it on a must-read list for the times we like in.
Half way through, I am catching myself in judgments, I didn’t even know I had.
I think this will be a delightful gift to the world.

This #TuneInTuesday I'll be doing an FB live at 8.30pm (UK time) and I'll be talking about how to use those "ffs" feelings to make you more confident. Warning: the f word will be said occasionally, if this bothers you, don't watch ;-)⠀
What kind of things make you whisper (or yell) "Oh, FFS!" Let me know in the comments below so I can cover in the live.⠀
Spending this week writing emails and updating ALL the Dare to Grow videos (!!). I've been scheduling my tasks in sprints - working on one project for a week or two at a time and man is it making my days so much easier!
I used to worry that I'd get burned out working on the same thing all week so I would schedule multiple projects at once and alternate every day. But with just one project on my calendar (and maybe a smaller task or two each day) I'm able to stay more focused and feel more accomplished checking things off on Friday.
Plus it's leaving my weekends free of work (and that day off guilt) a lot more often!
What's your productivity M.O.? Work on multiple projects at once, one project at a time, or some other strategy for success??
One of the many things I have learned the past few years is that you can’t be a #successful entrepreneur alone. It takes a village-worth of encouragement from others in charge, going through similar journeys or who have already been in the journey you are currently on. Even if you are a self-starter you still need the guidance, reality check, inspiration and motivation from other entrepreneurs along the way. And this lady right here has been one of my rocks. Our entrepreneur journey began around the same time, we both saw a need in two different industries and took a leap into #startuplife, we have cheered each other on, we have cried to each other, we have called in frustration and called when we just don’t know what to do. She has been my sounding board when I feel completely alone and has been my rock when I have lost all hope. Thank you @remymeraz for being a badass boss lady, friend, leader, and woman entrepreneur. I am here rooting you and @metymenetwork every single day!
Repet for the rest of your life.
Praticamente siamo morti ancora prima di morire.
Perché vogliamo tutti la stabilità? Avere il controllo di cui che accadrà?
Quanto è bello non avere idea di cosa la vita ha in serbo per te?

Totally geeking out on this staycation my husband surprised me with for our anniversary this weekend. I’m swooning because this is not just any ol’ staycation...because he knows me so well, he suggested we turn this into a *business planning* staycation where we would spend the weekend brainstorming all my #bizgoals for 2018 on a whiteboard! (Well, that and lounge in the hotel bed watching movies and eating snacks. 😏) Love 👏🏾 that 👏🏾 man. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
