I found this last night in the cellar. It was in a book given to me by a few friends with their own writings in it I had the pleasure to do psychodrama with in Essen, Germany. Unfortunately the poem had no signature, so no way to truly put a credit. But how beautiful! I thought I'd share. The search for the lost 150 poems that still are in the cellar somewhere continues. ;) #poetry#poem#writing#beauty#creativity#elfchen#elfchenpoem
“Quando si scrive, si vede come il modo di costruire qualcosa governi il suo significato globale e ne sia inseparabile. La forma dà al racconto un significato che qualsiasi altra forma cambierebbe, e se lo studente non è in qualche misura capace di cogliere la forma, non coglierà nulla dell’opera, tranne quello che è estraneo alla sua natura letteraria.” #flanneryoconnor#nelterritoriodeldiavolo#scrivere#writing#scritturacreativa
Yesterday's presentation gave me way too much anxiety but I'm glad it's over. Three more books left to read for this module. I'm quite excited to read England, England but also it's a Julian Barnes and I hope it's not too profound for me to engage with in class.
Good news: I finally got over my writer's block last night and churned out a poem before bed :> the link's in my bio! It was inspired by a music video I really like, where these two people walk right past each other in the end. I think the train and the two people gave me slight 5 centimetres per second vibes ;-;
I attempted to letter the first few lines of my poem on a postcard but they ended up all slanted which irks me a bit, but if I'm not even straight why should my writing be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OK jokes aside, I will work on my lettering so I don't end up with atrocities like that anymore
I sat upon the river bank
Observing this simple boat man,
He offered a plate of flowers,
Praying and hoping for answers.
Perhaps he only wants to know
That we are loved and not alone,
But isn't that a common thought,
A quiet yearning in all hearts?
A human right to know the truth
Wanting only a little proof,
But there's a reason it's called faith,
There's steps to meet truth face to face.
To know the real meaning of life,
Like all learning will take some time,
I know that you have been let down,
But please don't let your hope be drowned.
Just be patient and persevere,
For you ARE loved and very dear,
If only you could know how much,
Your heart would know true depths of love.
